Good Grief: Day 19 “All Things Work Together”

All Things Work Together

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose”
-Romans 8:28

“I will open rivers in desolate heights, And fountains in the midst of the valleys; I will make the wilderness a pool of water, And the dry land springs of water...That they may see and know, And consider and understand together, That the hand of the Lord has done this”
-Isaiah 41:18-19,20

Trust has not been my personal strong suite. In fact it has been one of the hardest things to attain since my personal shipwreck. Before it all went bad, I felt I was taking a leap of faith, and entrusting my future to the Lord. But after a misfortunate turn of events, it all seemed to come back and slap me square in the face. So, naturally I was pretty confused about God, and how to really trust Him. Somewhere in the process, I had gotten so mixed up that I didn’t know if He was someone I ever wanted to trust again. Or, at least not in the same way I had before. But what I had failed to do throughout my shift in circumstance was to remember what God told me he does with our failure and misfortune. He is in the business of turning it all around for our good. But, it is up to us to wait, to believe, and to allow His hand to transform the desolation around us into a place for dwelling. Allow your heart to be reminded of God’s desire and ability to turn your circumstances around. Let him show you how willing He is to bring the wreckage of your life back to wholeness.
